Recommended for handling relatively fine free-flowing and loose bulk materials with small to medium sized lumps. Material is discharged by centrifugal action as the interval spaced buckets pass over the head wheel. Loading is accomplished by directly feeding material into the buckets at the inlet. Belts are preferred for more abrasive applications, provided high temperatures are not a factor.
The continuous discharge elevator is used to handle sluggish, aerated material or product having a large percentage of lumps. Mounted continuously on either belt or chain and operating at much slower speeds, the buckets form a chute as they pass around the sprocket or pulley. Gravity causes the material to fall gently onto the back of the preceding bucket and out of the discharge spout.
First designed and commonly known as Cement Mills, these elevators meet the most severe bulk material handling requirements. Now used for a variety of high capacity and abrasive applications, their design and durable construction make them ideal candidates for the toughest environmental conditions. Usually mounted on a single strand of steel bushed chain, AC or SAC buckets travel at speeds high enough for a clean centrifugal discharge.
Developed as an alternative to meet the needs of todays industrial type elevators, particularly cement, this high performance heavy guage pressed seamless steel bucket is designed and engineered to replace large fabricated buckets. Compared to traditional chain and bucket formats it offers substantial increases in capacity relative to the casing size of conventional elevators. Capable of running at speeds up to 430 F.P.M. with throughput in excess of 1000 T.P.H., it is ideally suited for high capacity/high lift applications and provides unequalled opportunity to upgrade existing equipment. Also available with reinforced wear lip, it is closely mounted on standard rubber or steel-web belt for ultimate performance. Supercapacity style elevators are more suited to handling friable, heavy or abrasive materials at very high capacity and can accommodate very large lumps. The massive H style buckets are end-mounted continuously between two strands of high quality steel bushed roller chain. Material is fed to the buckets through an internal loading chute. Extremely low speeds guarantee true continuous discharge and ensure long-life.

Centrifugal bucket elevators are chosen when there is a need to move large amounts of material quickly. Instead of direct loading, buckets serve as the loading apparatus, scooping material up from the boot or inlet section. For this reason, durable buckets should be selected with this design. Centrifugal force at the head pulley throws material from the buckets into the discharge chute. The buckets are spaced in wider intervals to prevent discharge interference from the preceding bucket and to assure maximum fill of the buckets at the boot end while moving at a higher speed. The design of this style yields optimized material fill and reduced interference between buckets.
Continuous bucket elevators are designed to handle friable, fragile materials to minimize product degradation or damage. They are also ideal for handling sluggish or abrasive materials. Continuous bucket elevators are also used to convey light, free-flowing matter where aeration of the material must be avoided.
Material is fed into the buckets from an inlet chute. Buckets are designed for gentle discharge; the buckets are closely spaced on the belt or chain to allow the material to flow over the backside of the preceding bucket, whose extended sides form a chute to guide the material into the discharge spout. Direct loading of the material, combined with the slow speed of this elevator type, avoids the throwing action associated with centrifugal style elevators, making it ideal for use with fragile materials.
Chain bucket elevators provide a higher-capacity, more durable handling option. They are best for jobs requiring rugged handling of large particles, or materials that are heated or have a potential for combustion.

The UniMAX bucket elevator is a high capacity centrifugal discharge elevator engineered to meet the most strict industry standards. The elevator head, boot, and intermediate sections have been designed with adequate space for buckets and belt to travel un-impeded throughout the system. Bucket spacing and belt speeds follow recommendations and standards set forth by industry leaders. UniMAX bucket elevators are designed with cleanliness in mind by eliminating shelves for material to build up in the head, inspection doors, vents, access and boot section. The casings were also designed for afterthought installation of hazardous monitoring equipment to eliminate cutting and grinding on newly purchased elevators.
Safety is priority UniMAX elevators are built with the provisions to install hazardous monitoring equipment. The boot and head casings have removable covers to install belt alignment sensors and boot shafts are drilled and tapped for speed sensors. The boot bearing guards offer a take up location indicator and knock outs to access grease zerks and installation of bearing temperature sensors.
The UniMAX head has been designed with a crowned drum pulley with slide lagging. Inspection doors are included for inspecting the buckets, belt, deflector pad, and discharge throat. Incorporated are jack bolts to assist with aligning the bearings. Lifting eyes are contained in the lower head, up-leg and down-leg casings for rigging and maintenance. Removable covers for installation of belt alignment sensors are standard.
The intermediate section is constructed with seam welded 12-gauge trunking built in a jig. An optional 10-gauge upgrade for heavier construction is also offered. Included is an access section for easy maintenance of buckets and belts.
We offer standard rubber belting with PVC, high temp, and food grade options are available upon request. HDPE Buckets come standard with all units but optional carbon steel, stainless steel, nylon, and urethane buckets are available as well. Buckets may be vented when the application requires it.
UniMAX elevators offer two different drive packages all rated for Class II Service and are mounted on the right hand side when looking into the hopper. When purchased with a new elevator, the #2 drive package includes a shaft mounted reducer, v-belts, sheaves, v-belt guards and optional internal backstop. The #5 drive package includes a right hand mounted helical bevel gearbox with internal backstop and guards. Additional options for drive packages include motors, creep drives and dual drives.
The UniMAX Boot has a solid welded design for durability. Included are removable covers for installation of belt alignment sensors and for the installation of a shovel pocket. The boot shaft is drilled and tapped on both sides for installation of speed sensors.

Thanks to the
continuous buckets, this series of bucket elevators have great flexibility
allowing a wide range of speeds from low to high speeds. They are used when a
low speed is required (less than 0.7 m/sec), as in the case of lifting granular
fertilizer material or for lifting medium-sized materials (50-100 mm), and also
when high speed is possible (> 1 m/sec) in order to minimize the size and
therefore the cost of the bucket elevator required.
When speeds lower than 0.8-0.9 m/sec are required,
the action of discharging the material, although external to the trajectory of
the buckets, occurs due to the combined effect of centrifugal force and
gravity, with the material flowing on the back of the preceding bucket, thanks
to the continuous bucket system. Therefore, when the material is being
discharged, the back of each bucket acts as a slide for that part
of the material that is forced to follow a less effective expulsion trajectory
due to insufficient centrifugal force. This allows an easy discharge through
the outlet chute.
When speeds exceeding 1 m/sec are permitted (the most frequent case) usually up to 1.5-1.6 m/sec it is allowed the highest flow rate of material to be lifted. In this case, the material is usually discharged centrifugally.

The bucket elevator is equipped with some protection switches. The protection switches will give early warning of possible accidents, and also to be connected to the central control room for real-time monitoring of the operation of the bucket elevator.
The gearbox can be equipped with auxiliary drive according to the need. When the main motor has an emergency failure or the bucket elevator needs maintenance, the auxiliary drive will start and the bucket will run at slow speed.
Gravity+Spring tensioning device is used in the tail part of the bucket elevator to realize automatic tensioning. Constant tension force can be maintained after one installation adjustment to avoid belt slipping or chain taking off.
The drive pulley of belt bucket elevator can adopt segmented diamond-rubber plate. When the drive pulley wears out, just replace the diamond-rubber plate which reduces the maintenance cost and save repair time.

Bucket elevators are designed to move flowing powders or bulk solids vertically. Bucket elevators use an endless belt or chain and have a series of buckets attached to it. Bulk material is spread into an inlet hopper. Buckets (or cups) dig into the material and convey it up and over the head sprocket/pulley, and then throw the material out a discharge throat.
Bucket elevators are not self-feeding, and are fed at a controlled rate. The buckets are usually where the chain or belt path is vertical or steeply inclined in a single plane. The buckets are returned back down to a tail pulley or sprocket at the bottom.

What is the bucket elevator? Bucket elevator, also called material handling elevator, is a kind of conveying equipment to automatically lift raw materials from low place to high place. It is widely used in grain factories, food industry, chemical industry, etc. Besides, it is also the indispensable cement plant equipment that applicable to vertically lift limestone, coal, gypsum, clinker, dry clay and other solid block materials and small granular materials, as well as cement, pulverized coal and other powder materials. When the equipment is working, materials will be fed evenly through the feeding port. Meanwhile, driven by the driving pulley, the buckets fixed on the conveyor belt (chain) will scoop materials and rise with the belt (chain) until they get to the top of the driving pulley, and the buckets start to turn over. Then under the action of centrifugal force or gravity, materials will be unloaded from the discharging port and sent to the next process.
The belt bucket elevator usually adopts the rubber belt. It is mounted on the outside of driving pulley and return pulley. However, the chain bucket elevator is usually equipped with two parallel conveyor chains, one pair drive sprocket and one pair return sprocket. Besides, these two types of bucket elevators are both equipped with a shell to prevent dust flying in the process of lifting.
