The new enhanced pre-heater is installed at the kiln tail part. It largely improves the usage of the high-temperature air inside the rotary kiln to increase the efficiency of the pre-heating and decomposition, saving fuel.
Our lime rotary kiln is equipped with an enhanced vertical type cooler. This cooler can cool down the lime faster while increasing the lime activity, which results in easier storage and transportation and less energy consumption.

The waste gas is emitted via a longer channel, fine cooling process and a dust collection system. The content of dust and polluted air is largely reduced. It can meet the regulation requirement for emission. The collected dust can be utilized again by feeding back to the raw material preparation system. The discharged gas from kiln head and tail can be used from waste heat power generation.

Rotary calciners (sometimes referred to as rotary kilns) are used for a variety of material processing applications. These high temperature machines process materials into a desired form by changing the state or composition of a material, or removing moisture. Unlike directly fired calciners, indirect rotary calciners are heated from the outside of an enclosed chamber. This gives them the ability to process materials that are fine or dusty, susceptible to contamination or combustion, sensitive to oxidation, or thermally sensitive. With this advantage, indirect rotary calciners have the ability to process a wide variety of materials.
The rotary calcination process begins with raw materials that are fed into one end of the calciner. These materials are gradually heated along the chamber body of the calciner, often in various temperature zones. As the material is fed into the calciner, a rotating cylinder gently pushes the material along the chamber. This rotation promotes even material distribution and processing. Rotation speed and temperature are tightly controlled according to the desired process or material application. During this process, chemical reactions may take place, the state of the material may change, or moisture may be removed, depending on the specific application thats required. Because heat is applied from outside the chamber, material integrity is preserved throughout the process. After completing the heating process, the material often goes through a cooling phase within the chamber, and is then deposited at the opposite end of the calciner in its finished form.
Rotary calciners are occasionally used in conjunction with a spray dryer to process materials that have already been spray dried into to powders. This additional processing can accomplish desired material changes for advanced manufacturing applications.
Calcination, often referred to as thermal processing, involves heating a specified material to a specific temperature in order to cause thermal decomposition. For example, in the case of limestone, calcination is used to drive off carbon dioxide.
Thermal desorption refers to the process of utilizing heat to remove or vaporize a specific component from a material. Indirect rotary calciners are especially useful for this application, because the flame does not come into direct contact with the material.
Rotary calciners can also be used to dry bulk materials, because of their ability to tightly control air temperature and material integrity. In these applications, the machines are sometimes referred to as rotary kiln dryers.

Cement rotary kilns refer to cement rotary calcining kilns (sometimes called rotary furnaces). It is a pyroprocessing device used to heat materials to high temperatures in a continuous process. The kiln body is a cylinder vessel with a certain degree of tilt to the horizontal level. Raw materials are fed into the vessel from the upper end and moved to the lower end, being stirred and mixed relying on the inclination and rotation of the kiln. The kiln burner produces a lot of heat by burning fuel. This kind of heat is usually transferred to materials through flame radiation, hot gas convection, kiln brick conduction, etc., which causes the chemical reaction between raw materials and finally forms clinker.
Rotary kilns can be divided into cement kiln, metallurgical and chemical rotary kiln, lime rotary kiln and so on. Cement rotary kilns are used for calcining cement clinker in the cement plant, which can be divided into dry cement kiln and wet cement kiln. Metallurgical and chemical rotary kilns are mainly applied in the metallurgical industry. As for the lime rotary kiln, it is the main equipment for calcining active lime and light burned dolomite used in iron and steel plants, ferroalloy plants, calcium carbide plants, and magnesium metal plants.
The cement rotary kiln is mainly composed of cylinder, supporting device, drive gear, refractory lining, catch-wheel device, kiln head sealing device, kiln tail sealing device, kiln hood, and other components. On the cylinder, there is a large gear ring fixed with a spring plate near the kiln tail, some pinions below are engaged with it, jointly forming the drive gear. In normal operation, the main drive motor will transfer power to this gear device through reducer to run rotary kiln. The raw material usually enters the rotary kiln from the upper end and move slowly to another end along with the chamber as it rotates. In this process, raw materials will be heated by high temperature and then decompose and produce chemical reactions so that their state finally changed. Under normal conditions, the heat source of indirect fired rotary kilns is supplied from the kiln burner outside the kiln. This kind of way protects the integrity of raw materials, while the heat source of the direct-fired rotary kiln is inside the kiln. Besides, the rotation speed and temperature of the cylinder are tightly controlled and changed according to different desire processes and material applications. After the calcination is completed, the clinker will be pre-cooled in the chamber and then be sent into the cooler for further cooling.

Carl Harrop, a professor in the Ceramic Engineering Department at The Ohio State University, founded Carl B. Harrop Engineers in Columbus, Ohio in 1919. The previous year he had been granted a patent on a new type of car tunnel kiln, a device for firing ceramics in a continuous process which saved substantial energy over the traditional batch firing methods. Harrops first project was to design two of these tunnel kilns to fire vitrified hotel ware for the Chelsea China Company in New Cumberland, West Virginia. In 1923, Harrop designed and built the first tunnel kiln for clay brick in the U.S. for Ohio Clay Company in Cleveland. Another notable first was the technology application of electric energy for firing glazed ceramic tile, with the construction in 1929 of Harrops first electric tunnel kiln at American Encaustic Tiling Co. in Zanesville, Ohio. Harrop was also pioneering the design of other types of continuous kilns, with its construction of the first pusher plate kiln for firing pottery ware at Crooksville China co. in 1930. Harrop has successfully commissioned a custom engineered robotic sagger handling system and sagger filling system for automatically filling saggers with ceramic material and placing the saggers on the kiln car.
